I’m going to start using this finally. If I just keep telling myself that, it will happen. It’s not like I have anything interesting to contribute, but I still feel like this would keep me busier than anything else I have going on right now. We’ll see!
Where the name came from. Great song.
Don’t be a cheap bastard.
Something to think about before you order food (based on Domino’s, but still applies to many other places):
- Delivery drivers generally make 50% of minimum wage. This pay also only applies to when they are actually at the store. As soon as they leave for a delivery, they’re technically clocked out, since pay ceases until they return.
- They only get about a ten cent compensation for gas.
- The delivery fee DOES NOT go to your delivery driver, it goes to the company. This is clearly stated on most websites/menus.
So when the weather is so bad that you don’t want to drive, or even when you just feel too lazy to leave the house to get some food, or if you’re like me and cannot drive, just remember that your delivery person isn’t making anything other than what you give them. Pass it on, please and thank you in advance.
PS: Don’t forget about your phone when your delivery driver can’t find your house in the middle of nowhere. Your pizza will get there on time if you answer your phone and give directions that make sense.
What time is it?
Salvation Army time. Aww yeahhh.
And I’m not going to be late today, because I don’t feel like getting fired.
I actually really like my job. How weird. :\
Learning something new every day…
I was not aware of the fact that in March, here in New England we will still be wearing coats and layering up. When my manager asked me to dress the mannequin for a St. Patrick’s Day display, I grabbed a green dress, rain coat, sun hat and a matching purse. He shook his head and told me that he was sure it would be a fine display if I were still in Florida, but here in Massachusetts we needed more layers. After one more failed attempt he had someone else dress it. I guess that displays just aren’t my niche; At least not until I know what the weather will be like year round! Oh well, I’ll find my niche eventually — or it will find me! :o
